Model Co Fiber Lash

I put some on this morning so here are some photos...

BEFORE:

AFTER:

(sorry my lighting is really bad!)

I can say that it really does make your eyelashes longer :)!!

I normally use the Maybelline Colossal, which is also good and it does make my lashes longer but the Model Co one has a little bit more length to it!

I think I'll stick to the normal mascara for everyday use but if I'm going to a party or somewhere nice, I'll probably use the Fiber Lash one! I don't want to use up all the Fiber Lash one because it's only a small bottle! :(

I do like it though! :D

Mum came back from Japan!

My mum came back from Japan this morning and I got some presents! YAYYAAY!

Some Japanese snacks! Pocky! Chocolate coated biscuit sticks. >_<
I also got a lipgloss. The application wand for this lipgloss is a bendy, plastic spatula! So interesting!

My brother, who is in Japan got me some of these really cool presents from a place called Asakusa!! (A really old place in Japan)

Some Shurikens! :O

A 24KT Gold flower vase! Pretty!

Tiger and Dragon Fan!

Dragon Fan! :)

THANK YOU!!!!

Shopping Time! :)

YAYY! I got paid yesterday so I went shopping!

I got:

-Model Co Fiber Lash, Extreme Lash Extension Mascara Kit
-Rapid Lash, Eyelash Renewal Serum
-Almay Bright Eyes, liner and highlight duo pencil in 02 Dark Chocolate & Shell
-Leather Jacket from JayJays

So now I'll tell you a little bit about each of the products I got..

Model Co Fiber Lash

I bought this at the Model Co counter in David Jones, Robina.

At beauty college, some lady had this 'fiber lash' thing and she had it on one of her eyelashes and it looked like she had false eyelashes! But her one was from another brand but I found out that Model Co had the same kind of fiber lash so I thought I'd try it! When you look at the fiber lash, it looks really fluffy! Its so interesting lol!

Directions: you apply one coat of the black extension mascara. Then you apply one coat of the fiber lash and another coat of the black mascara to set the fibers on your lashes!

Rapid Lash

I got this Rapid Lash from Priceline.

This product is made in the U.S.A. Its an eyelash serum which says it will help amplify the length, thickness and volume of eyelashes with a simple once a day application. This can be applied to your top/bottom lashes and your eyebrows! It says that it takes approximately 3-4 weeks before you can see a noticeable improvement.

Directions: Apply Rapid Lash to the base of the upper eyelashes using the applicator brush. The eye should be completely clean of any makeup or eye creams. Start from inner corner of the eye outwards. Apply it once daily in the evening before bedtime.

Almay Bright Eyes

I got this liner and highlighter duo pencil from Priceline.

I really like this product! I already used one up so I had to buy it again! Its an eye pencil with a highlighter side and a dark liner side in one! The darker side can be used for your eyebrows and as an eyeliner. The highlighter can be put under your eyebrows to highlight your eyes and it also makes your eyebrow shape look perfect. So I really like this eye pencil because its really handy and you have two things in one!
________________________________________

For the Rapid Lash, Ive already taken a 'before' photo of my eyelashes. That way, I can blog about the product and tell you if it worked! So I will use this product every night for 3-4 weeks (starting from last night) and I'll take an 'after' photo to show you how my eyelashes look!!! :)

BOOKED IN!

I just booked in for a 1 night accommodation in Q1 for me and Sams 4 year anniversary!!!

I can't wait! It's going to be so much fun! We can walk around Surfers Paradise and get dinner, go shopping, relax, drink and so much more!

We started going out on the 8 April 2006! So our anniversary is pretty soon, its like 2 weeks and a bit. It's gone so fast! :)

All I can say is that I'm very lucky to have someone like Sam!!!!

New Eyeshadows!!

Hey! I recently bought two 88 eyeshadow palettes from Ebay and I got them today!! :)

I bought the neutral palette and the colourful palette.

Both the palettes were bubble wrapped and everything looked secure but in the colourful one, some of the eyeshadow had fallen out but luckily not all the eyeshadows were broken! Only one grey one so I'm pretty happy. I just super glued the bottom of the ones that had fallen out. :)

YAYY, now I get to try out all the different colours! >_< I'll probably use the neutral palette more than the colourful one though. I just thought it would be a good idea to buy both so when I start doing makeup, I have different varieties!!!

Update

Hello!

So on Monday, we started skin biology! We learnt about the layers, cells of the skin and how it works, what it does, what everything is called etc..... ahhhh, there is so much to learn!
We already have our first skin biology exam next Monday!! :| I've studied a little bit but I should start memorizing all the names!!!!

On Tuesday, we started doing makeup and it was sooo fun!!!! I can't wait until the next class! We were paired up and our task was to complete a DAY makeup! So we all had to use very light, neutral colours for the eyeshadow, lips, cheeks and light coverage for the skin. :)
It was soo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only part I was a little embarrassed and felt awkward was when they had to cleanse my face and take all the makeup off before we started! Since my skin has scarring, I was like :O ahhhhh! hahah! But I guess it wasn't that bad, all the girls there are really nice so it does make me less nervous..

Today we had theory for waxing! It was a pretty long day but I learnt something new today so I'm happy! :)
Next week on Wednesday, we have to wax each others legs!! So we were told not to shave or wax or do ANYTHING until Wednesday so we have long enough hairs to wax! Hahah. Everyone was like awwwww :(!!!!! We have to grow our hairs!! Ewwwwwww.. you feel so dirty with hair like on your legs, armpits.. its so tempting to just shave it straight away but we have to keep it! Lucky us! :) But it's all worth it! We're gonna have nice, clean, smooth legs!! WOOOO!!

In a few weeks time when we all have no hair to practice on each other, we have to start bringing people in!!! I asked my boyfriend Sam if I could wax his legs and chest but I don't think I can convinced him to come in! Haha! DAMN! Well we will see!! :) Maybe I can!

I'm finally catching up with my friend tomorrow morning and then I have work! I'm also working on Friday and Saturday too.. *sigh* so busyy!!! I need money though. Hopefully I'm not working on Sunday because I really need time to study for the skin biology exam!! :|

Anyways, I need sleep!!! Goodnight!

I feel violated!!!

Okay, I went to Priceline and I was looking at some makeup. Then some guy came up to the same section and he was standing really close to me but he started looking at the makeup so I thought, maybe he was looking at something for his girlfriend or whatever.. so I was like okay..

It was kinda weird so I went over to another makeup section THEN the guy followed me!! He was standing even closer and it was so scaryy!!!! He was like a few centimeters away from my back!!! So I moved to another section and he followed me again! I quickly then went into another aisle and he followed me but luckily there was a girl who worked there so I asked her where something was and then the guy disappeared!!! T_T

SO SCARY!!!!

Review on Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear

(sorry, my bed is pretty messy lol!)

I heard about this tinted daywear and I was really excited about it because its a moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation all in one! So I had to get one! >_<

Basically, its a 3-in-1 moisturizer, zinc sunscreen SPF 30+ and sheer foundation! Theres two shades light and medium. Its great for any skin tone. I'm pretty fair but I got the medium one and its actually not that dark. It looks quite dark when you just squeeze it out but when you rub it in evenly onto the skin, it blends in nicely. You only need a little bit for your face. I just put little dots on both my cheeks, chin, nose and forehead.

Its says use the Tinted Daywear daily to help reduce the appearance of premature ageing caused by UV exposure. It's also awarded 'World's Best New Product' in the UK.
-Its natural, mineral sunscreen
-Only active ingredient is Zinc Oxide
-No chemicals
-No Titanium Dioxide
-No Parabens
-Micronised Zinc Oxide
-Low Irritant for sensitive skins
-Preservative free
-Broad Spectrum - very high
-Protects against UVA and UVB
-Product NOT tested on animals

I tried it this morning and I really like it! The only bad thing about this product is that it's pretty thick! Because its got sunscreen SPF 30+, the texture is thick and it was hard rubbing it in evenly. Other than that, I like it! Since I have a few scars, I just use powder foundation over the Tinted Daywear very lightly to hide the redness a bit and also to set the tinted moisturizer. :)

I think I'll be using this instead of my MAC liquid foundation for now because the MAC is quite a high in coverage and I prefer a lighter coverage at the moment, especially in the hot weather!

The Tinted Daywear is perfect!!! It feels really light on my skin and I don't feel like I'm wearing so much foundation! Normally I wear the MAC one which gives a really nice coverage but it feels so heavy! But with this Tinted Daywear and a little powder, its light and gives a really nice coverage!! :)

I rate this product 9 out of 10!

Are you using the right face cleanser for your skin type?

Cleansing the face is very important as it removes all the oil, dirt, sweat and bacteria. Your cleansing process should completed by applying a toner and then a moisturizer.

It's just the matter of finding the right type of face cleanser for yourself!

So here are some tips:

Cleansing Milk-
All skin types
Usually oil in water emulsion with a relatively high ratio of water to oil, making it quite fluid in texture.

Cleansing Cream- Most skin types EXCEPT oily skin
These products have a high amount of oil to water. The emulsion is thicker in texture than cleaning milk. It is effective in removing grease and oil based makeup.

Since this type of cleanser is a cream, it's very good for people who have very dry skin! The first thing you want is nice, hydrated, moisturized skin. So the cream is good for restoring dry skin by putting the moisture back into the face.

Cleansing Lotion- Combination/oil/acne skin NOT mature combination/oily skin.
This is a solution of detergent in water. It doesn't contain oil so its not suitable for removing makeup.

This is good for oily skin, its creamy but very light!

Foaming Cleanser
- Most skin types EXCEPT dry skin
Usually contains mild detergents that foam when mixed with water.

Foam cleansers are very light so its suitable for oily and acne prone skin! Oily skin doesn't need that thick, creamy, oily texture to cleanse the face as the skin already produces enough oil.

_________

Since I have acne prone skin, I use Benzac AC Wash and its a water based cleansing lotion. Even though it has strong chemicals in it, it really works for my skin and it doesn't dry out my skin like some other products did. After I cleanse, I tone then moisturize! I love this, it keeps my skin clear! :)

So I use:

Cleansing: Benzac AC Wash
Toner: Lavender Vinegar OR Apple Cider Vinegar OR Clean and Clear Blackhead Toner
Scrub: St.Ives Apricot Blemish
Moisturizer: Neutrogena Oil-free Fresh Moisture OR Clean and Clear Oil-free Moisturizer

Isnt he cute!?

My new dragon drawing!

The other day, there was a special sale on at a Japanese Green Tea Cafe, Tokonoma. This lady lived in Japan for awhile and she collected all these old Japanese antiques which included pots, plates, drawings, kimonos, mirrors, wardrobes and sooo much more!! There was so much stuff there and when I got into the place I was like :O! and I got so excited just looking at all the beautiful collections! I really like the old, antique stuff so I was a bit excited lol!

I liked alot of the things but I didn't have enough money so I came up to this dragon picture and I really liked it.. I had to buy it so I asked her about the drawing and she said that she got this when she went to a Japanese Ginger in 1975. A man was drawing these dragon pictures in front of the ginger and he drew the body of the dragon with only one stroke! I was like :O woooowww, thats amazing! If you look really closely, you can see these lines through out the body and it looks like the dragon has scales! >_< It's so cool!

It was only $20!!!! SOOOO of course I bought it! Especially because it was her own personal collection and you can't get these items EVER unless you go to Japan and find this man... so its something very special! My mum told the women I love collecting weapons and Im interested in all that stuff so she was really happy that the drawing was going to go to someone who actually cared about her collections. :)

Some of the other stuff she had.... ohhh it was soo nice lol! Too bad I didn't have enough money.

Makeup Class 1: SEASONS

HEY GUYS!

So today was our first makeup class!!! We had theory today and we looked through a booklet.

Some of the things the booklet outlined:

-How to identify a persons skin type, skin condition, skin tone etc.
-The Integumentary System (about the skin)
-The face bone structure
-The muscles on our face
-All the skin types
-Contra-indications
-Identifying cleansing products
-Face shapes
-Highlighting and camouflaging
-Creating make-up illusions
-How to select suitable products (eg: type foundation)

We also learnt that everyone can be categorized into 4 seasons, Winter, Autumn, Summer and Spring. By looking at at someones hair/skin/eyes it can provide us to pick the best seasonal colours for ourselves!! This can give us an idea of what colour we suit and what we dont!!!!

SOO HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (When you're reading through this, try and figure out what season you fall into!)

WINTER

Eyes: dark browns, hazel, dark green, navy, chocolate, black/brown
Hair: black, chocolate browm, chestnut or rich auburn

______________________________

So do you think you know what season you are!????? >_<

Just remember that its not just ONE feature hair/skin/eyes but its the WHOLE picture of all three create together that provides us with this guide for best seasonal colours. So if you have dyed your hair a totally different colour to your natural colour, it may change your actual season....

Eg: If you naturally have dark hair and you go blonde, the light colours will suit you better because the blonde hair BUT reaaalllyyy the warmers colours bring out your eyes and skin tone. So it's a bit hard to pick! Do you want to accentuate your hair or your eyes and skin!?

The whole season thing is just to let you know what colours are best for you. If you dont like the colours you look best in, then just wear what you want! Its just letting you know what colours are best, doesnt mean you can't wear any other colour because its not in your season. You just wont look your best.. jks!

I'm a winter and I don't think I would ever wear hot pink! Ewwwwwwwww!!

Today we also got our new makeup brush kit! WOOOOOO!!!!!!

Koi Fish Symbolism! READ!!!!

I'm really interested in getting a back tattoo so I was just looking at some youtube videos and I came up to this one particular clip and it taught me a whole new meaning of a koi fish! It's so interesting!

Read this information I found on a website!

"The koi have long been a part of the Japanese life. At almost every temple and sacred place there is a small koi pond. The koi also know as Carp fish is known throughout China and Japan. Originally the story came from Buddhist teachings in Chine where it was believed the koi fish would swim upstream and go against the current and even up a waterfall. The myth states that any koi fish that could swim up the Yellow river and up the waterfall at the mythical place called Dragon Gate would then turn into a dragon. Therefore in China the koi fish would stand for strength and power and advancement. This same idealism was adopted throughout Japan. It was adopted in Japan to such a degree that it has become a part of their daily life and ritual. In fact large flags of koi fish are flown on Boy's Day to celebrate the strength, energy and power that boys should posses."

On the youtube clip, the guy was saying that while the koi fish was on the journey, he would learn different lessons and adopt different characteristics from all the animals he met. This included a stag, an eagle, tiger, snake and a crane.
Once the koi fish finished his journey, he transformed into this dragon! That is why the dragon has antlers of a stag, mane of a tiger, claws of an eagle, body of a snake and the scales from when he was a koi fish.

"...fish can be thought of as a symbol of for family strength and unity. Since the legend states that koi fish would swim up stream it has also symbolic of power, struggle and overcoming the odds in life. In the same vein it is also a symbol of courage...."

____________

When I read this part, it just hit me and it just made so much sense!! It just relates to anyone! I thought of something like....

In life, we have our own journey. It's like we're in this stream and as we grow, we learn new things along the way. We go through tough times and we just have to be strong and overcome these. If we dont, it's like the stream just washes us right back to the start and we start again. Some people get stuck in this stream and don't know what to do. Some people allow the stream to take them back to the start but have no effort or have no courage to push themselves and try again.

The stream makes us brave enough to fight against the strong waters. We learn how to overcome the hard times in our life and we also learn an important lesson from it. Just like we learn everything from our mistakes....

We then become this person with great courage, hope, trust, love and much much more!

You just have to try your best to be strong and overcome them! Don't let the stream just push you back! Stay on the track and keep making your way up! In the end, it all worth it.

When you know you have become strong and have courage, there may be some people in your life still struggling making their way up to the stream. This is when you give a hand, and help them make it up. Sometimes, you just have to leave them to do it themselves. But giving them a little help and advice from what you've learnt from your journey can give them more courage to stay on track. ^_^

I hope you liked this blog entry and hope you learnt something because I know I did!

My ears pierced!

HEY! FINALLY, my internet is working!

The internet connection was broken and it hasnt been working for awhile so I couldnt go on computer.. it sucked so much! lol. It's so boring without internet!

Anyways, on Tuesday, we pierced peoples ears! The girls practiced on me and now I have 3 holes in each ear! :) I already had one but I got another 2! I was really nervous when they were loading the gun but when they pierced it, it wasn't actually THAT bad! After awhile, we had no clients left and we were really bored so I was just like.. "Wanna pierce my ears again!?" Haha. So they did!

I really like them. Its so pretty!!! >_< The third ones hurt a little still.
